The pick of the prices on Day 3 at Glorious Goodwood….

I sent out betting advice for this afternoon – Day 2 at Glorious Goodwood – yesterday. View it here….

I’m always a day in advance of what’s going on – and I’m already thinking about Day 3….

…. which means the Kincsem Handicap (1.50) – a handicap restricted to 3yos and run over the 10f trip….

Without further ado….

In the Kincsem Handicap – 1.50….

Palace Green was up at 10s yesterday – and I quit my work station last night with him in mind as the provisional bet….

I thought he did well to finish where he did at Royal Ascot given the troubled passage he endured….

…. and he looks well handicapped on a mark of 90….

But the price about him has been stripped back to 6s overnight….

…. which is short enough….

…. and preference this morning is for APPROVAL….

He disappointed in the Golden Gates at Royal Ascot….

…. where he was sent off second favourite….

…. looking nicely handicapped on a mark of 90….

He finished down the field beaten 7l….

…. and tomorrow he’s up at 10s….

…. which is generous enough…. 

He’s had a break of almost six weeks….

…. he’s down a couple of pounds in the rankings to 88….

…. and unless he’s gone from prospect to shot fighter overnight….

…. there’s every chance he could turn out tomorrow ready to resume were he left off at Windsor….

…. ready to show that the Ascot performance was a blip – one of those things….

The Windsor performance was very promising….

…. he nailed a big novice field – winning by 4.5l and putting 17l between himself and the fifth horse home….

The 2nd, the 5th, the 6th, and the 8th that day have all won subsequently. The second horse is now rated 91….

It all suggests this Approval is potentially generously treated on 88….

He’s got to bounce back – for sure – but there’s every chance he will….

…. and – if he does – he’s a big player at a nice price….
