In ATC today….
…. I bring you my best picks on Day 1 at Aintree….
I’m on JASKO DES DAMES in the 4.40 – up at 14s….
That’s the summary….
…. you’ll find all my reasoning below – as per usual….
Oh…. and if you’re looking for the standout place terms on offer – you’ll find them in the Bet Box below….
Read on….

…. the Red Rum - Aintree – 4.40....
Henry De Bromhead’s a dab hand with two mile chasers….
…. he’s won this event a couple of times over the last decade….
…. and – in my book – his JASKO DES DAMES is the pick of the prices for tomorrow’s renewal at the general 14s….
The 7yo served notice that he’s got the scope to win one of these big pots back in 2024….
…. when finishing fifth on handicap debut in the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival….
…. and he would have been closer still but for mistakes at the last two fences….
That was a baptism of fire in handicap terms, but it was no flash in the pan….
….. De Bromhead’s charge went well again in the same race this year – leading at the second last only for his challenge to peter out up the hill….
For me, that’s been the dominant feature of his Cheltenham performances to date….
…. he’s run good races there – but he gives the impression that the track provides just too much of a test….
…. and I think Aintree could prove much more up his street – especially on decent ground….
He ran a big race at Listowel – left-handed and flat – on decent ground back in September….
He’s certainly not been over-raced this term….
…. giving the impression he’s been saved for the spring….
…. and I see him running well tomorrow at a big price under Darragh O’Keefe….

Now, just to recap….
The pick of the prices….To recap on my bets…. In the 4.40 @ Aintree….
e/w terms = Sky Bet pay 5 places. It’s 4 places generally…. Advised prices are correct at the point of publication – but subject to fluctuation. Shop around – you may find better quotes and terms than advised…. |

That’s all for today….
