A pick for the Super Sprint….

In ATC today….

…. I bring you my best picks for Saturday….

I’m on KODI BEAR LIGHT in the 3.37 at Newbury – up at 14s & 12s….

That’s the summary….

…. the Super Sprint Stakes – Newbury – 3.37....

Just the one bet for me on what is a quiet Saturday….

…. I’m backing Karl Burke’s KODI BEAR LIGHT at the general 14s….

She’s drawn in stall 23 – which is a distinct positive when you consider that the last ten winners of this race came out of stalls 13, 13, 19, 25, 16, 15, 21, 18, 10 & 16….

She gets a nice weight to begin with because she wasn’t very expensive and doesn’t carry a penalty….

…. she gets the 5lb allowance from the colts – which is an additional bonus….

…. and I’m mindful that she’s got loads of speed – as she demonstrated under tomorrow’s jockey when winning at Thirsk back in May….

I reckon some punters will be put off by the fact she was well beaten at Beverley next time out – having seen money….

…. but I’m not concerned about that….

She was drawn wide that afternoon, used up a lot of energy early doors to get a forward position, and weakened out of it in the later stages – along with the others that forced the pace….

…. and I have no problem drawing a line through that run….

She turns up tomorrow having been given a break and I expect her to go deep for a yard that has a quality track record with juveniles….

…. bagging the rail from her high stall, giving it plenty of welly from the front, and issuing a ‘catch me if you can’ challenge to the rest….
